Volunteers needed for the 2010 Cochrane Winter Rally

Once again we are looking to fill up the workers list for the 2010 Cochrane Winter Rally.

One of the best ways to get into rallying and learn how and what to do is to volunteer at an event. There are many positions available, most not requiring any special knowledge (we'll teach you anyway).

2008 Kananaskis Rally is coming up quick

kan_rw.jpg

The Kananaskis Rally heads southwest from Cochrane into Kananaskis Country and the Rocky Mountain Foothills. Featuring the respected Powderface stage, this fall event keeps the teams guessing when it comes to tire choice. Even with a good amount of gravel showing, the November weather is sure to leave some snow and ice in the shady sections of the road.

The "dusk to dawn" Loop Rally returns to Calgary on September 20th

The 2008 edition of the Loop Rally returns to some territory that hasn’t been used for a TSD event in a few years.

Loop is the fifth event in the Rally West TSD Championship, and although first place seems to be decided, the leaders could still be knocked off their perch by any of the next three crews who are in quite a battle amongst each other.

Josh Keatley and Leanne Junnila win again and take a commanding lead in the Rally West TSD championship! The Northern Loon TSD, organized by the Edmonton Rally Club on June 1, was run under bright sunny skies and dry dusty roads. This year's event went north of Edmonton following roads that were established more than 200 years ago by the Hudson's Bay Company, and overland settlers.

Magical History Tour begins June 1st

The Northern Loon Rally is the 4th event in the Rally West TSD Championship, and it is an excellent event for novice or rusty crews. It's a relatively short rally of about 350 Km, so no special preparation is required and it shouldn't be taxing on your every-day driver if you don't mind driving on gravel roads.

Rocky Mountain Rally - 35th Anniversary

The Rocky Mountain Rally - May 22-24, 2nd event in both the Canadian Rally Championship and the Western Canada Rally championship is shaping up to be an exciting event for both competitors and fans.

With announcements of Hyundai’s continued support of Antoine L’estage/Nathalie Richard (winners in 2006 and 2007), and both Mitsubishi and Subaru offering impressive support programs for teams in their vehicles, the top level will be very competitive.

Weather just the right mix at GNU 2008

The weather ended up being the big favorite at this year's event. The roads themselves featured snow, slush, ice, dry gravel and plenty of mud with falling snow, hail, rain and sunshine mixed throughout.
