Cochrane, Alberta is home to the season opening Cochrane Rally of the Ranchlands and the final event, the Kananaskis Rally. The Cochrane Rally heads north-west of town to the forestry and oilfield roads off of the Forestry Trunk Road. As the first event of the season, teams often show up to kick start their season. This event was the first regional event in North America to allow 2 pass recce and pace notes.
